Sunday 11-9-24 with Pastor Chris

Nov 9, 2025    Pastor Chris Pfeffer

This powerful exploration of Matthew 24 challenges us to rethink how we understand the end times and our role in God's kingdom. Rather than focusing solely on our personal escape or security, we're called to adopt a 'kingdom up' perspective that asks deeper questions: Who is coming? What are we belonging to? What are we doing to build His kingdom? The sermon walks us through Jesus' olive discourse, where He warns His disciples about false messiahs, tribulations, and the signs preceding His return. What's striking is that Jesus doesn't offer a timeline—even He doesn't know the day or hour—but He does give clear instructions: stay faithful, keep watch, and continue the work of making disciples. The parable of the faithful servant reminds us that when the Master returns, He's looking for those who've been responsible stewards of what He's entrusted to them. This isn't about cowering in fear or obsessing over prophetic charts; it's about understanding that heaven and earth will come together, that Jesus—the divine human who's lived in both realms—will restore creation, and that we're citizens of this eternal kingdom right now. The question isn't just 'Am I saved?' but 'Am I building kingdom?' The end of the age means the end of self-centered living and the beginning of fully realized kingdom life on a restored earth.
