Sunday 12-28-25 with Pastor Chris

Dec 28, 2025    Pastor Chris Pfeffer

This powerful message invites us to examine both the 'what' and the 'why' of our faith journey as we transition into a new year. We're reminded that Faith Christian Center isn't just a building—it's us, the body of Christ, called together with a clear mission from Matthew 28: to go and make disciples of all nations. But beyond knowing what we do, we must understand why we do it. The sermon challenges us to maintain our first love for Jesus, drawing from Revelation's letter to the church of Ephesus—a congregation that was busy, hardworking, and doctrinally sound, yet had lost the heart of their devotion. This is a sobering warning for any community of believers. We can fill our calendars with church activities, serve diligently, and maintain excellent programs, but if we've lost our intimate connection with Christ, we've missed the point entirely. The message calls us to spiritual wisdom and insight, to see both the awesomeness of God and the beauty of Jesus in our gatherings. As we enter 2026, we're encouraged to prioritize correctly—God, family, church—and to seek the presence of God with expectation, knowing that when heaven and earth collide in our worship, transformation happens. The Holy Spirit is our compass, the Bible our map, and together they guide us toward becoming more like Christ, which is the ultimate why behind everything we do.
