Sunday 5-17-26 with Brenna Blain

This powerful message invites us to reconsider where we expect to encounter God in our everyday lives. Through the lens of Jesus' first miracle at the wedding in Cana, we're challenged to recognize that God doesn't only show up in the dramatic mountaintop experiences or crisis moments, but primarily in the mundane, ordinary rhythms of daily life. The central question becomes: have we unknowingly trained our faith to only recognize God in the extremes? The transformation of water into wine wasn't just about solving a social embarrassment, it revealed something profound about the nature of Christ's kingdom. He enters our insufficiency not with spectacle, but with quiet, generous provision. The servants who filled the jars with water had no idea what they were participating in, yet their simple obedience became the means of miracle. This speaks directly to our tendency to forfeit participation in God's work because ordinary obedience feels too mundane. Prayer, worship, and attentiveness to others lose their appeal when they don't feel immediately meaningful. But the outcome we're invited into isn't just answered prayers or fixed circumstances, it's Christ Himself, victorious and present. Even in our weakness, depletion, and unanswered questions, to be in Christ is already fullness.
