Sunday 10-4-26 with Pastor Chris

Oct 4, 2026  •  Pastor Chris Pfeffer

What does it look like to face evil with clear eyes and a steady heart? This service takes us on a sobering journey through some of the most pressing realities of our time, from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East to the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, from the anniversary of October 7th to the quiet erosion of truth closer to home. At the heart of it all is a distinction we cannot afford to miss: knowledge, wisdom, and understanding are not the same thing. Proverbs 4:7 reminds us that wisdom is the principal thing, and in a world drowning in information, we are called to filter everything we encounter through discernment rooted in God's Word. The spiritual lesson here is not one of fear or despair, but of clarity. Evil is real, it is rising, and it is strategic. But so is our God. We are reminded that 2 Timothy 1:7 speaks of a spirit not of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. That sound mind is our inheritance, and it is what equips us to look at hard truths without being overwhelmed by them. This is an invitation for us to stop reacting and start responding, with wisdom, with prayer, and with the unshakable confidence that God has the final word.
